Hello and Welcome!
My name is Anya ~ I am an author of this blog, and I have been hanging out in this little corner of the internet for over two years now, sharing how we learn and play together at home. Maybe you have found this place after seeing some of our popular play ideas on Pinterest (like Identifying Animal Tracks in Snow Dough) or you saw our video on Facebook (like Montessori Addition Strip Board) or maybe you found us via Instagram ... Well, regardless how you got here, I am so glad you have decided to stop by and explore our world a little more! Let me tell you a bit about myself:
I am passionate about People, Little People, Montessori and The Love of Learning! I respect and follow the child while offering support and sufficiently stimulating prepared environment which will help spur enthusiasm and hands-on exploration! I espouse respect, intrinsic motivation, authenticity, diversity, unity, and peace! I am thrilled you are here!
A little bit more about me: I hold Juris Doctor degree, but after experiencing blissfulness of Motherhood, instead of practicing law, I decided to devote myself to my children: 8 and 4-year-old, my family and my home, becoming a happy full-time stay-at-home Mom, a Wife and a Blogger who enjoys learning, nature, photography, and most of all, seeing the world through the eyes of my children.
I am passionate about the Montessori method of education, which spurs autonomous (and let me say perpetual) learning. “The more you learn, the more you realize how little do you know,” and now I came to realize the immense satisfaction learning has brought to me, along with the ability to share my knowledge with others, especially my children. I enjoy homeschooling because every day is a day I myself can learn and explore something new, and in the process, I can grow, connect and be closer to my children. This blog is about our Montessori life journey, and I hope you will feel my love for my children, education, and the world around us. I strive to sustain my children’s curiosity and the love of learning while cherishing the beauty of this world, as well as respecting and caring for it. Together we celebrate life!
“The unknown energy that can help humanity is that which lies hidden in The Child ... [a] human being to whom respect is due, superior to us by reason of their innocence and of the greater possibilities of their future” —Dr. Maria Montessori.
Our homeschooling journey is very much Montessori inspired, so please see here ~ 📚Books To Raise A Child The Montessori Way ~ which Montessori readings are helpful in learning more about this amazing educational philosophy.
How to get around my 📃blog:
While navigating my blog, please refer to "BEGIN HERE ℹ️" tab on the top left and then click ➡️ on any of the main areas of the Montessori curriculum below:
Please, note that in Montessori schools, the last three areas: Geography, Botany and Zoology are generally grouped under a single category "Cultural and Science."Also note that the purple Navigation Bar on top which has links to all the above Montessori areas of work is pinned (PIN'd), meaning it will move with you when you scroll down.
On the left side-bar of my blog, I have grouped activities by Adrian and Julia's age, as well as by other categories. Please note that posts are shown most recent first. Also, on the left, you will see a calendar with links to posts we have done on that day. Lastly, anything that is highlighted light purple is a clickable link 🔗 which will either take you to another post about that item or will direct you to where to buy this particular material.
